Spearfishing on the Rigs in the Gulf of Mexico
For those of us who enjoy diving, fishing and hunting; spearfishing seems like a
natural union of those two passions. Both once you actually do it, you find that it is
much more.

First, for those of us living in Southeast Texas, local beaches bring images of brown
water and rotting seaweed. But the beauty of blue water lies just a few miles out.

The thrill of splashing into the water and immediately being surrounded by fish is
overwhelming. You mind races as you look for a "shooter" and scan the schools
around you. Your skills become challenged further as you manage the buoyancy and
air consumption of normal diving. There's much more and perhaps someone more
eloquent than I can describe it.
